Right-angle drawer-slide mounting?
This 250 kg drawer-slide set can be mounted at a 90° angle on the floor or to the ceiling using our floor brackets. These are not included as standard with the drawer slides and must be added to the cart separately.
The brackets are designed so you can choose whether the lip protrudes underneath the drawer or along the side of the drawer. The mounting hardware is compact, so no threaded end protrudes on the outside. You can even attach two drawer slides to both sides of one bracket. This is ideal for multiple drawers next to each other, for example in a camper or commercial vehicle. If you want multiple drawers above each other, this can be done easily and quickly using the high floor brackets.
The floor brackets also make installation easier. Even professionals who could screw the drawer slides directly to the inner walls of a cabinet often choose our floor brackets because adjusting drawer slides is a precise job. The space between the cabinet and drawer may only deviate minimally from the specifications, and the mounting positions on both side walls must also be aligned with each other. With floor brackets, you mount the drawer and brackets to the slides first, place the assembly in the cabinet, slide it open and closed once, and then fasten the brackets to the base.
Mounting a drawer or platform?
The inner profile of the drawer slides can be screwed or bolted directly to the side of a drawer. In many cases our aluminium drawer brackets are useful. These angle profiles support the drawer, reduce the load on the drawer wall and can also be used to create a pull-out platform between the slides. After mounting the brackets, you can simply place the drawer on them and fasten it.
With lock-in and lock-out locking?
These heavy-duty drawer slides are fitted with lock-in and lock-out locking. This means the slides lock in both the closed and open positions. This is useful in vehicles, campers, service vans and other applications where the drawer must not open or close by itself.
Important: from the open locked position, unlock and pull slightly before pushing the drawer closed. Do not push or hang on a drawer while the slides are locked open; this can damage the locking mechanism. Operate the handles over the full stroke to prevent unnecessary wear.
How much weight can a drawer with these slides carry?
One set of these drawer slides can carry 250 kg. This applies both when retracted and extended, provided the weight is evenly distributed along the length. Do not forget to include the drawer’s own weight in your load calculation. If necessary, use dividers in the drawer to prevent heavy contents from sliding forward. You may also choose not to let the slides extend fully, but to stop the movement earlier. This reduces the lever arm of the protruding weight, allowing the slides to carry a higher load compared with maximum extension.
Horizontal or vertical use of the drawer slides?
The stated loads apply when the drawer slides are used in the standard vertical position, mounted against side walls. The slides can also be mounted flat/horizontally under the drawer, but this reduces the maximum load and increases deflection. Flat mounting also makes the slides more sensitive to dirt because the exposed profiles can collect dust and sand.
For the best stability, durability and load capacity, vertical mounting against side walls or use with suitable brackets is recommended.
What does a drawer-slide thickness of 19.1 mm +0.8 mean?
The drawer slides must be placed without tension between the drawer and the cabinet. To achieve smooth movement, the distance between the drawer and the side walls of the cabinet must remain within the range of 19.1 to 19.9 mm. If the gap deviates from this range, friction occurs and the slides will operate stiffly. The closer the gap is to 19.1 mm, the more stable the drawer. The addition +0.8 / -0 indicates how much this size may deviate.
